Catherine Tammaro, Owner, Fine Artist and Designer with TÀMMARO ART/Design, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in spiritual art.
Ms. Tammaro is an accomplished artist, designer, author, teacher and Indigenous Faithkeeper. She has been the owner and sole proprietor of TÀMMARO ART/Design since 2003 and has excelled as a freelance artist since 1975. Ms. Tammaro has also served as the Indigenous arts program manager with the Toronto Arts Council since 2020.
Since 2019, Ms. Tammaro has found success as an Indigenous Elder artist-in-residence with the AKIN Collective. She was an Elder-in-residence with Evergreen Brick Works from 2021 to 2022 and worked with the InPrint Collective from 2019 to 2021. Eminently qualified, Ms. Tammaro holds an Indigenous Canada Certification from Coursera and completed the digital imaging and publishing program through Toronto Image Works in 2002.
To prepare for her career, Ms. Tammaro completed coursework at the Cleveland Institute of Art and obtained a diploma from Aurora High School in 1973. She went on to matriculate at the Ontario College of Art & Design University and graduated with an associate degree in general studies in 1982. Ms. Tammaro has been the seated Faithkeeper of the Wyandot of Anderdon Nation since 2017.
For her professional excellence, Ms. Tammaro received a travel grant and a grant for material and supplies assistance from the Ontario Arts Council in 2018 and 2013, respectively. Attributing her success to her persistence and the influence of her parents, she hopes to continue growing and developing her relationship with the city in the future, allowing her to provide more public art. Ms. Tammaro hopes to see her work featured in the Art Gallery of Ontario and expand her reach to Europe.
