Prof. Emeritus Robert Bohle, PhD, a fine artist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of abstract art.

Hailing from more than four and a half decades of excellence as an educator, Dr. Bohle has more recently distinguished himself as a painter of abstract art. Preferring the mediums of oil and acrylics on canvas, his bold use of colors, consistency, value, and shapes communicates a truly visceral story to the viewer. Likewise, his corpus of art has been displayed in several juried group art shows.

Prior to his current endeavors, Dr. Bohle earned distinction in the field of education, during which time he specialized in the subjects of writing, editing, newspaper and advertising design, and journalism. Following 20 years of service on behalf of the School of Communication at the University of North Florida, he earned the distinguished title of professor emeritus in 2019. Previously, he had held academic and administrative roles at several other schools from 1974 until 1995, including Virginia Commonwealth University, the College of the Sequoias, Palomar College, and Orange Coast College. During his own academic journey, Dr. Bohle initially studied California State University in Long Beach, from which he received a Bachelor of Arts in English and creative writing in 1970 and a Master of Arts in English literature in 1972. Following this accomplishment, he went on to the University of Tennessee, where he earned a Doctor of Philosophy in communications in 1984.
