Genevieve E. Flynn, Silversmith, director, owner, designer, instructor, and creator at Genevieve Flynn Studio, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in jewelry.

With nearly 50 years of experience to her credit, Ms. Flynn has excelled as director, creator, designer, instructor, and owner of Genevieve Flynn Studio since 1986. She began her career as a jeweler at Roth Jewelry from 1975 to 1976. She worked as a bench jeweler at Perrin’s Jewelry Inc. from 1977 to 1980 before transitioning to the role of coordinator at the Baltimore Alternative Craft Show from 1987 to 2000.

Ms. Flynn is a practicing silversmith. She creates and designs silver flatware, holloware, and art objects, fabricating sheets of sterling silver, fine silver, and Argentum silver to create teapots, small bud vases, larger vases, and tabletop sculptures. She works with organic designs, so nature is very influential, as well as the art of the nouveau era. She produces commissioned projects and creates one-of-a-kind objects.

Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Flynn pursued an education in the art world, earning certifications in art business from the Mid-America Arts Alliance as well as certifications in hand engraving, jewelry design, and jewelry repair from the Kansas City School of Watchmaking. Beyond her responsibilities within the field, she has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. She supports the Nature Conservancy and the local pet resource, which helps animals and families in need.

In addition to her primary vocation, Ms. Flynn remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She is a member of the Kansas City Metals Alliance, the Society of North American Goldsmiths, the Kansas City Artists Coalition, and the Midwest Metalsmiths. She has served in the finance room at the Kansas City Artists Coalition since 2013 and as a juror for Art in the Park since 2015.

In light of her impressive undertakings, Ms. Flynn has accrued several accolades throughout her career. She was recognized as Best in Kansas City by the 2023 Brookside Art Show and presented with the Saul Bell Design Award in 2015. She was awarded first place by the Kansas City Artists Coalition at the River Market Regional Exhibition in 2014 and first place by the Highland Park Art Fair in 1998. She received an honorable mention by the Columbia Festival of the Arts in 1985 and bestowed an Inspiration Grant by ArtsKC.
