With years of experience to her credit, Ms. Padgett has excelled with her private studio, Dyan J. Padgett Fine Art, as a painter and the owner since 2014. Trained in portraiture although she largely focuses on still life and floral paintings, she frequently works on commission after beginning her career in the field of marketing and advertising for several years. In addition to her primary endeavors, she remains affiliated with such organizations as the American Women Artists (AWA) and the Oil Painters of America (OPA). As a testament to her exceptional efforts, Ms. Padgett was notably presented with the Fritz Smith Memorial Award.
Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Padgett pursued an education at DePauw University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in politics with a major in art, cum laude, in 1994. She continued her academic efforts with a Master of Arts in qualitative analysis at the University of Amsterdam in 1998. She concluded her studies with painting coursework at The Atelier School of Art in 2014. An avid watcher of the world around her, she was naturally drawn to the fine arts by her natural urge to capture and portray what she witnessed around her as well as the influence of her brother, who displayed artistic sensibilities of his own. Looking toward the future, Ms. Padgett hopes to expand her studio to additional markets, including Santa Fe, Charleston, and Chicago.
