With 63 years of experience to his credit, Dr. Marler has excelled as an artist at Marler’s Photo & Art LLC since 1973. He is a versatile artist with a diverse range of skills, encompassing pastels, watercolor, pencil, and oil painting. He began his career as a teacher at Hartville Schools from 1972 to 1982. He has served as an adjunct professor at Southwest Baptist University since 1988 and at Drury University since 1994.

Before embarking on his professional path, Dr. Marler pursued an education at Southwestern College where he earned an associate of art in 1967. He continued his academic efforts at the College of the Ozarks, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in 1970. He accrued a Master of Arts at Drury University before completing a master’s degree in computers at Columbia University. He concluded his studies at Columbia Pacific University, graduating with a PhD in computers in 1988.

Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Dr. Marler has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He donated approximately 2,000 pictures to different charities and found success with his written work “How to Do Art Projects in 7 Different Mediums” and his illustrated work in “Nya Visit to the Country.” He was featured in Rural Missouri magazine.

In light of his impressive undertakings, Dr. Marler has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was inducted into the Dunklin Co. Library Hall of Fame in 2007 and recognized as Tandy Technology Scholars Outstanding Teacher from 1996 to 1997. He received the People’s Choice Award in several different communities and was a finalist for the NASA Teacher in Space Program in 1985 and 1986.

Dr. Marler attributes his success to his unwavering faith and passion for drawing. He acknowledges that these have been key factors driving his accomplishments. Additionally, he credits his wife for being a significant influence on his work. Her unwavering belief in his abilities and her consistent encouragement have been invaluable to him.

One of Dr. Marler’s most notable accomplishments was having his art featured in “Art From Leonardo da Vinci Today.” This book includes the works of 241 artists and features renowned artists such as Da Vinci, Dre, Rembrandt, and Picasso. In the immediate future, he intends to continue creating drawings for clients and other projects, including a book about Da Vinci that has been published recently. He has been invited to participate in competitions in Tokyo, London, and New York and hopes to become the most prolific artist in the world.
