Ms. Skok, an esteemed professional vocalist and educator with over three decades of dedicated experience, has forged a distinguished career path in music. Armed with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in vocal performance from Carnegie Mellon University and an artist diploma in Opera from Duquesne University, she honed her craft extensively. Her tenure at the MET Young Artist Program from 1991 to 1994, akin to a master’s program in voice, further enriched her musical journey.
Since 1995, Ms. Skok has ventured into vocal instruction, establishing Skokstudio LLC to offer tailored vocal programs, both online and in person. Simultaneously, she has embraced diverse roles, transitioning from a celebrated soprano to a professional contralto in 2021. Founding and directing Resonanz Opera since 2009, she has been instrumental in nurturing emerging talent in the opera sphere.
Throughout her multifaceted career, Ms. Skok has garnered prestigious accolades, including the Faculty Advancement Award from New School University in 1998 and the First Place in Opera Index in 1993. Her recent achievements include winning first place in the Pop Music Division at the New York Music International Grand Prix in 2022. She has left an indelible mark through her contributions to various recordings and performance art videos on her YouTube channel, Heidi Skok, Contralto.
Committed to nurturing talent, Ms. Skok has held teaching positions at esteemed institutions like Oberlin College, Lakeland Community College, and The College of Saint Rose, fostering the growth of budding vocalists. Looking ahead, she envisions performing Mahler and Wagner repertoires with national orchestras globally. As a fervent writer, she also aims to publish her novel and continue her pursuit of vocal excellence with aspirations to expand Skokstudio.
