Having accrued over four decades of valuable expertise in her chosen field, Ms. Donovan has earned acclaim through her evolving role at the University of South Florida. Currently active as an instructor, she has taught numerous courses on the expressive arts, including painting, contemporary style, digital drawing, foundations of art and design, and much more. Ms. Donovan finds great joy in observing the success of her students, whose breakthroughs in learning have long mirrored her own as a professional artist.
Drawing from a career in Fine Art and Design, Ms. Donovan initially served as a marketing representative for a Title Company, after which she handled various aspects of catalog design for the safety equipment industry. She subsequently joined the staff at an advertising agency, and handled various projects, including a weekly news magazine. Throughout most of her career, Ms. Donovan also built a robust clientele as an independent artist, utilizing her skills for publishing and advertising to produce high-quality digital media and magazine art.
Augmenting her professional journey with fine art and instruction, Ms. Donovan has achieved recognition for her talent as an abstract visionary, with multiple exhibitions throughout the United States and Europe. She has also been invited to speak at various conferences dedicated to visual arts.
Ms. Donovan’s fine art body of work, often reveals a tactile atmosphere that evokes memories of both pain and joy, frequently features rescued items and encompasses various mediums, including painted fabrics and canvases, creative walk-through spaces, wooden and ceramic slabs, and freestanding and hanging pocket art, among others. Some of her work can be viewed at the Viridian Artists Gallery, one of New York City’s oldest artist-owned galleries.
Well-regarded for her resilience and tenacity in the face of great obstacles, Ms. Donovan attributes much of her success to her determination and creative approach to solving problems. Looking toward the future, she aspires to exhibit more of her work throughout Europe. On a broader scale, she seeks to balance her exhibition content with her ongoing responsibilities as a teacher and art research specialist.
