T. Budge Hyde, professor emeritus at Greenfield Community College and visiting professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in fine art.

Mr. Hyde brings over five decades of experience in the field of art and education, with a rich academic background that spans from 1964 to the present. He pursued his education with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The University of Utah in 1964, followed by two Master of Fine Arts degrees from the Art Academy of Cincinnati and the University of Cincinnati in 1968.

Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Hyde has made significant contributions as an educator and artist. He currently serves as professor emeritus at Greenfield Community College, where he has been a professor since 1972. Additionally, he has held roles such as adjunct professor at Massachusetts College of Art and Design from 2006 to 2009 and visiting professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst since 2009. Notably, he served as department chair at Greenfield Community College for 23 years.

Beyond academia, Mr. Hyde is an accomplished artist with a prolific portfolio of over 600 art pieces, encompassing numerous series created since 1960. His creative works have been featured in exhibitions, educational settings, galleries, and collections across New York and Massachusetts. In 2023, his artwork was showcased in a full-scale 40-page catalog titled “Theater of the Absurd,” featuring over 25 paintings.

Mr. Hyde attributes his success to his late wife’s unwavering support and his passion for teaching. Despite facing various challenges, including serving in the United States Army as a First Sergeant from 1957 to 1964, he remained dedicated to his craft and his commitment to education. In addition to his professional endeavors, he is actively engaged in civic contributions, supporting organizations such as the YMCA, Doctors Without Borders, and Planned Parenthood Federation of America Inc.

Reflecting on his career, Mr. Hyde’s most notable achievement is his lifelong dedication to teaching and art. Looking ahead, he aims to broaden the reach of his paintings and share the fruits of his lifelong dedication to art with a wider audience. Throughout his career, he has learned valuable lessons and witnessed changes in his field, shaping the future of the industry. He has been influenced by various mentors and individuals who have guided him along his journey, contributing to his growth and success.
