Wren Woodward Sarrow, MFA, visual artist and gallery manager at Sarrow Studio Fine Art, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the arts.

With over two decades of experience in the arts and event planning, Ms. Sarrow excels as a contemporary artist, working independently under Sarrow Studio as a commissioned artist. Her visual artworks encompass three distinct styles: pop art with outlines and flat colors, recycled Styrofoam installations with lights and paint, and naturalistic oil portraits. Her portraits feature diverse individuals, representing friends, family, and herself. She often draws inspiration from dreams and themes of nature, human emotion, and surrealism. Concurrently, she has worked part-time as the managing director and gallery manager of TAG Gallery since 2022. In this role, she manages events and staff, promotes exhibits, and facilitates solo and group exhibitions. She also works with the artwork archive to catalog the gallery’s artwork, manages the company website, and mentors artists. Additionally, she served with the company as the president and admissions chair from 2017 to 2019.

In 2018, Ms. Sarrow and her husband founded the artHYPE Foundation, where she serves as president. The foundation promotes fine art talent, supporting artists through exhibitions and scholarships. artHYPE also offers self-guided drawing and painting instruction for youth and adults, nurturing creativity, fostering growth mindsets, and providing recreational opportunities through artistic practice and achievement, with all donations and profits directly supporting the foundation’s mission. Her prior roles include being an education coordinator with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and co-owning Studio 03.

In addition to her artistic pursuits, Ms. Sarrow was an insurance broker at True Path Financial and Insurance Services from 2022 to 2023 and a financial representative at The Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company from 2021 to 2022. She has also held academic roles, including a lecturer position for introduction to art at San Diego State University in 2003 and an undergraduate teaching assistant role at Pratt Institute from 2002 to 2003. Earlier, she worked as a library assistant in visual resources at Emory University from 1997 to 2001.

Laying a solid foundation for her future success, Ms. Sarrow earned a Bachelor of Arts from Truman State University in 1991 and a Master of Arts in art history, specializing in American and contemporary art, from The Ohio State University in 1994. Her studies culminated with a Master of Fine Arts in painting from Pratt Institute in 2003. Following these accomplishments, she obtained certifications in adult and pediatric first aid from The American Red Cross in 2023 and passed the Security Industry Essentials Examination from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority in 2021.

In addition to her primary vocation, Ms. Sarrow remains actively affiliated with various organizations. She serves as a board member and graphic designer for the Sherman Oaks Chamber Foundation and as a member of the Miracle Mile Chamber of Commerce. Previously, she was the cultural affairs committee chair for the Studio City Neighborhood Council, a graphic design, art, and web consultant for 350.org, a coordinator for Design for Bernie, and contributed to the Encino Elementary School Booster Club’s Annual Giving Fund.

In light of her impressive undertakings, Ms. Sarrow has been recognized for Excellence in Academics, Art, and Leadership at Pratt Institute and received numerous academic scholarships. Her achievements include being featured in “Members Reaching Out To The Community” by Miracle Mile Mirror, “Free the Nipple: Artist Spencer Tunick Protests Instagram Censorship of Art Photography” by Asbury Park Press, “Climate Action Artists” by Murze Magazine, “Karen Sarrow” by Salann Magazine, “350NJ” by WordPress, and “Studio Visit Magazine, Winter 2015” by Open Studios Press. Additionally, she was recognized by Los Angeles’s 4th City Council District in 2022 and was a featured artist at a Black-owned Art Gallery in 2020.

Ms. Sarrow attributes her success to the positive influence of her husband, academic mentors, and creative peers, who have supported and encouraged her. She believes their mutual support and collaborative environment allowed her to grow and thrive as an artist. Looking ahead, she aims to obtain a doctorate in art, which she believes will open new avenues for her career.
