Alicia T. Randisi-Hooker, Director at CelloLEAP Studio, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in musical education and performance.

With 40 years of experience to her credit, Ms. Randisi-Hooker has excelled as the director of CelloLEAP Studio since 2010. As a cellist and cello teacher, she organized workshops, recitals, and special events while preparing music for each student customized after their individual needs. In addition to these responsibilities, Ms. Randisi-Hooker manages the operations of her home-based studio, teaches college students on a weekly basis, provides personal instruction, and performs alongside orchestras and trios multiple times every year.

In previous years, Ms. Randisi-Hooker found success as the owner of the Talent Education Studio between 1987 and 1999. During this time, she was additionally active as the artistic director for the Academy of Children’s Music in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania from 1987 to 1993. Moreover, Ms. Randisi-Hooker has been appointed to the board for the Joy of Music School, a nonprofit academy in Knoxville, Tennessee that provides quality music education for financially disadvantaged and at-risk youth.

To support her professional ambitions, Ms. Randisi-Hooker pursued an education at The University of Tennessee, from which she earned a Bachelor of Music. She subsequently concluded her studies at Temple University in 1987, graduating with a Master of Music in cello performance. Furthermore, Ms. Randisi-Hooker built upon her skill set by becoming a registered teacher in the Suzuki Method developed by renowned Japanese violinist Dr. Shinichi Suzuki.

Beyond her primary position with CelloLEAP Studio, Ms. Randisi-Hooker serves as a teacher in Suzuki Method workshops across the nation at such locations as the Pennsylvania Suzuki Institute, the Intermountain Suzuki Institute, the Virginia Suzuki Institute, the Green Mountain Suzuki Institute, and the Blue Ridge Suzuki Camp. Earlier in her career, she performed as the assistant principal cellist with the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra from 1979 to 1984. She also contributed to the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra as a section cellist between 1999 and 2006. Since 2014, Ms. Randisi-Hooker has exhibited her musical talents as a cellist with the Trillium Piano Trio.

As a testament to her impressive accomplishments, Ms. Randisi-Hooker was honored with a Citation from the Suzuki Association of the Americas in 2014. She was likewise recognized as an Outstanding Teacher in the State of Tennessee by the Tennessee Governor’s School for the Arts. Ms. Randisi-Hooker attributes her success to her unwavering dedication, her outstanding persistence and her refusal to give up.

To remain engaged with the latest activities in her field, Ms. Randisi-Hooker has been affiliated with myriad professional organizations, including the National Federation of Music Teachers, the American Federation of Musicians, the Music Study Club, the American String Teachers Association, the Suzuki Association of the Americas, and the Music Teachers National Association. She has also participated in the Music Educators National Conference, allowing her to network and spotlight her unique skill set. Among her many achievements, she is incredibly proud of guiding her students to winning international music competitions and securing scholarships to some of the most renowned music schools across the globe. Looking toward the future, Ms. Randisi-Hooker hopes to continue mentoring her students and providing guidance and coaching to the next generation of performing arts professionals.
