Nancy Dillingham Marks, artist, instructor and owner at the Glass Arts Collective, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in glasswork.
Building on a varied career spanning more than 40 years, Ms. Marks has embraced her creative side as an artist, instructor and owner of the Glass Arts Collective since 2020. Through this business, she creates and sells glass art, as well as heading up lessons that teach others how to make glass art of their own. Concurrently with this, Ms. Marks also serves as a travel adviser for Help Me Plan My Travel. Her professional history covers a wide range of roles and companies, including the chief operating officer of Starnet Data Design Inc., an account executive at Avnet and Toshiba, and a sales manager at CompUSA. While serving as an X Series specialist at IBM for two years, Ms. Marks played a pivotal part in revamping the organization’s server sales strategy, keeping them ahead of the competition. Her professional life started as the director of administration of the information technology (IT) department for Sony Pictures Entertainment, where she implemented improved accounting and IT processes that directly had a positive impact on the company’s performance.
While Ms. Marks has learned lessons from each role she has undertaken, she has particularly fallen in love with the act of incorporating art into her everyday life through the Glass Arts Collective. She takes great satisfaction in sharing her knowledge and passion with others and encouraging them to do the same. With this in mind, Ms. Marks is in the process of launching the Artist Exchange Podcast, an audio program that will allow other artists to showcase their stories. She hopes to build a wider audience of passionate art enthusiasts through this podcast, connecting artists and art appreciators. Ms. Marks believes in the power of hard work and is committed to making this newest venture a success, just as she has with all of her previous endeavors.
Beyond her career, Ms. Marks is a dedicated wife, mother to three and grandmother to two. When she’s not creating glass art, she enjoys photography, traveling and visiting with other people to learn their stories. Looking to the future, Ms. Marks is devoted to continuing to expand the Glass Arts Collective and working on the Artist Exchange Podcast. Most recently, she has opened a gift shop addition to the Glass Arts Collective that features over 500 art pieces from 13 different artists available for purchase online. Ms. Marks looks forward to improving this effort and bringing the joy of glass art to even more people across the nation.
