Title: Musician and Orchestrator
Company: Creative Music Productions
Location: Auburn, Maine, United States

Edward Judd, MS, musician and orchestrator at Creative Music Productions, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in music production.

Mr. Judd has established a successful career in the music industry, currently excelling as a musician and orchestrator at Creative Music Productions, a role he has held since 2019. He also contributed as the author of View from the Podium, published by Creative Music Productions in 2019. In addition to his work as a musician, he writes music arrangements for school groups and is a member of the National Association for Music Education, served as president of the Maine Music Educators Association and is a delegate with the International Symposium for Music Education. Laying a solid educational foundation, he earned a master’s degree in music education from the University of Bridgeport in 1982. In recognition of his impressive undertakings, he received a Service Award from the Maine Music Educators Association.

Reflecting on his journey, Mr. Judd’s passion for music led to the founding of Creative Music Productions. His mother, a long-time dance teacher, often struggled to find quality music, inspiring him to compose pieces for her. Despite the challenges of keeping up with evolving technology, such as the transition from cassette tapes to CDs, he remained committed to his craft. In 2019, he revived Creative Music Productions to safeguard the copyright for his book, “View from the Podium.” His current vision includes sharing around three dozen of his exceptional compositions for dance instruction through online platforms, enthusiastically embracing the digital era. Additionally, as an experienced string bassist, he served as the principal bass player for the Lakes Region Symphony Orchestra in New Hampshire for 10 years and has been a dedicated music teacher for nearly 45 years, retiring in 2021. His teaching career spanned all grade levels, from elementary school to college band directing. He also held leadership positions for music educators at both the state and regional levels.

In retirement, Mr. Judd continues to contribute to the field by writing arrangements for school groups and friends with limited instrumentation in their bands. He views this work as a way to give back to the profession and does not charge for it. He also plays in a couple of community bands and composes music for young children in pre-kindergarten, tailoring his compositions to help them learn more easily.

Mr. Judd’s accomplishments include being part of outstanding musical groups and cherishing wonderful memories and experiences, which he captured in his debut book. He takes great pride in maintaining connections with many former students, who regularly stay in touch with him through emails, something that brings him immense joy. Seeing the lasting impact he’s had on his students is incredibly rewarding, and he eagerly looks forward to reuniting with them at a cozy pizza place for catch-ups. Currently, his next book is heading into publication, and he is also working on streamlining the process to make his compositions for dance instruction available online. He is determined to make his work more accessible and share his passion for music and dance instruction with a wider audience.
