Jason Cropper, Owner, Operator at Studio C Recording and Production and Founding Member of Weezer, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in media and entertainment.
With nearly three and a half decades of experience, Mr. Cropper has built a successful career in media and entertainment, specializing in studio recording, production, music production, and songwriting. He currently excels as the owner and operator of Studio C Recording and Production, a position he has held since 2017. His experience also includes sales at Vintage King Audio from 2011 to 2021, account manager at GC Pro, Guitar Center Inc. from 2008 to 2011, and traffic manager at Ocean Way Recording Studios, Classic Equipment Rentals from 1997 to 2008. Additionally, he was a recording artist with Restless Records from 1995 to 1997 and property manager at Wilshire Villas North from 1993 to 1996. Most notably, he found great success as a recording artist with the acclaimed band Weezer under the David Geffen Company from 1990 to 1993. He also dedicates his time to the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and Broadcast Music Inc.
Reflecting on his path, Mr. Cropper’s parents nurtured his love for the arts by encouraging him to explore various forms of creative expression. As he immersed himself in meditation from Stratford, he began envisioning the possibility of creating a successful record. This vision ultimately led him to relocate to Los Angeles. Coincidentally, his first three roommates in Los Angeles were the other founding members of Weezer. In May 1991, the four of them came together and, on February 14, 1992, officially formed the band. Weezer was signed to a record deal by the David Geffen Company in 1993. As a founding member and a key contributor to “The Blue Album,” he considers himself very fortunate.
Additionally, his life took a positive turn when he discovered Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles.” This transformative book became a beacon of hope, inspiring him to rise each day with renewed vigor. In addition to embracing yoga and a wholesome diet, he found that the right intake of magnesium significantly contributed to his overall well-being, yielding remarkable results. Currently, he works with recording artists, composers, touring musicians, and professionals across the recording, post-production, and live sound industries. He also offers musical equipment consultation, leveraging his lifelong passion for capturing the best sound possible.
Looking to the future, Mr. Cropper is focused on creating an exceptional record, in which he will “infuse every note and lyric with his creativity and passion.” He eagerly anticipates unveiling this work and sharing it with his audience. Additionally, he is dedicated to collaborating with young musicians with a passion for the arts, including playing guitar, singing, composing, and immersing themselves in rock and roll. He takes great pride and find fulfillment in producing records for these budding artists, offering guidance and support as a mentor with years of experience. Additionally, he is collaborating with his mother on a documentary project about magnesium, as she conducts in-depth research to explore its potential benefits and effective distribution.
