During this time, she honed her skills in laboratory settings, where precision and attention to detail were paramount. Dr. Bader’s work at a blood bank in Alaska was also particularly impactful, as she played a crucial role in saving lives. These experiences underscored her commitment to health care and laid the foundation for her later endeavors.

In addition to her scientific pursuits, Dr. Bader has cultivated a successful career in music education and composition. She served as an adjunct faculty member at Southern Wesleyan University in Central South Carolina from 2003 to 2006, sharing her expertise in piano pedagogy with aspiring musicians.

Dr. Bader’s academic achievements have been instrumental in shaping her multifaceted career. Her educational journey began with a bachelor’s degree in cell biology from the University of South Carolina in 1972, complemented by a certificate in medical technology from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1974. Subsequently, Dr. Bader acquired a master’s degree in music and piano pedagogy in 1991 and a Doctor of Musical Arts in piano pedagogy in 2001 from the University of South Carolina.

Apart from her primary career goals, Dr. Bader’s contributions to the field have been recognized through her membership in esteemed organizations, including the Music Teachers National Association, the South Carolina Music Teachers Association and the Columbia Music Teachers Association.

Active civically, Dr. Bader has served on the boards of the Columbia Music Teachers Association and HIS International Inc. She has also been an active member of Hand Memorial Methodist Church. Her contributions to these organizations reflect her commitment to community engagement and support for fellow educators.

Taking immense pride in having homeschooled her daughter through college, Dr. Bader crafted a curriculum that emphasized experiential learning and catered to her daughter’s unique strengths and abilities.
