Before launching her business, Dr. Briegel enjoyed a tenure career in academia. From 2001 to 2015, she was an associate professor of education at Zayed University. During this tenure, she was recognized for her mentorship and dedication to teaching, forming meaningful connections with students and colleagues in the business world.

From 1995 to 2001, Dr. Briegel contributed as an associate professor at Missouri State University, where she developed her pedagogical approach and shared valuable industry insights with her students. Earlier, she gained experience as an assistant professor of elementary and secondary education at Murray State University between 1991 and 1993, focusing on curriculum development and teacher training, and as a visiting professor at Tulane University from 1989 to 1991.

Dr. Briegel also spent over 15 years in public school education, starting in Russellville, Arkansas, as a middle school teacher, where she honed her instructional skills in diverse classroom settings and shaped young minds. She also briefly taught within Clark County Schools between 1993 and 1995.

Possessing a rich academic background, Dr. Briegel’s educational journey began with a Bachelor of Arts in English, journalism and psychology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 1973, equipping her with a multidisciplinary perspective that has informed both her teaching and editorial work. She then acquired a Master of Science in education with a specialization in reading for kindergarten through grade 12 from the University of Central Arkansas, which she completed in 1977. This specialization enabled her to address literacy challenges across age groups effectively. Additionally, Dr. Briegel earned a Doctor of Education in curriculum and instruction with concentrations in middle-level education and journalism from the University of Arkansas in 1989.

In addition to her formal education, Dr. Briegel holds several professional credentials, including a lifetime certification in English from the State of Missouri through the United Latino Students Association and a teaching certificate for English in grades seven through 12 from the State of Nevada.

Dr. Briegel’s professional affiliations include membership with IMDB, reflecting her engagement with the broader creative community. Her creative output is extensive, having authored “Guardians and the Secret Tomb” in 2019 and “Night Flight” via P&P Publishing in Las Vegas in 2020. Both are teenage disaster novels that have contributed to contemporary young adult literature.

Besides her books, Dr. Briegel’s editorial expertise has included co-editing “Missouri Middle School Journal: The Transescent” from 1998 to 2000 and “Teachers, Learners and Curriculum” at Zayed University between 2003 and 2006, as well as serving as the copyeditor for the Nevada Historical Society. She has also delivered numerous presentations at international conferences, further establishing herself as an authority within educational circles. In addition to writing and presenting, Dr. Briegel has pursued acting projects, such as “Grandma’s Cookies” with Film Cut Productions and “Charlie’s Adventures.”

In recognition of her hard work, Dr. Briegel has been frequently acknowledged in newspaper articles and testimonials that highlight her passion for education and her impact as a memorable teacher. She has also received numerous other accolades recognizing her contributions to teaching and scholarship, such as the College of Education Research Award in 1997 and the Service Award in 1998 from Southwest Missouri State University and the Level 1 Merit Award from Zayed University in 2004.

Dr. Briegel attributes much of her success to the values instilled by her father, who encouraged self-sufficiency and resilience. Born in Gravette, Arkansas, her formative years were shaped by global experiences, including attending middle school in Tehran during military presence there, and graduating from high school in Turkey in 1966. Looking ahead, Dr. Briegel intends to continue writing while pursuing opportunities within acting, remaining vigilant for ways to positively impact others through storytelling and performance.
