Across a career spanning more than 30 years, Ms. Krogh has established herself as a renowned graphic designer. Her journey began as a production artist and creative assistant with Eire Partners in 1995. Following that, Ms. Krogh gained experience as a graphic designer with Bozell Chicago, a senior graphic designer with Ambrosi and Campbell Mithun and an art director with Publications International. From 2005 to 2009, she contributed as a production artist and senior designer with SPM Marketing and Communications.

In 2012, Ms. Krogh began a seven-year tenure as the art director of Sourcebooks. This position saw her organizing and designing an average of 100 books per year, with a focus on nonfiction and adult fiction projects. Ms. Krogh also collaborated with multiple departments, including sales, marketing, editorial and the chief executive officer and publisher, ensuring that projects were kept on a timely schedule and to a high standard of quality. After this formative role, she served as a senior art director with Amazon Publishing for several years.

Since 2019, Ms. Krogh has owned her own firm, Adrienne Krogh Design, through which she takes on freelance art director assignments. She showcases expertise in book cover design, digital asset management, image research, social media marketing, and branding and logo design. In addition to creating book cover designs, Ms. Krogh is able to source and manage designers for projects. She specializes in delivering high-quality designs based on each client’s needs, with a background in literature and art that gives her unique insight into meaningful book cover design.

Before venturing onto her vocational path, Ms. Krogh pursued a strong academic background. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting, sculpture and design from the University of Illinois Chicago. Among her many skills, Ms. Krogh has demonstrated notable capabilities with PowerPoint, the Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator. She also knows basic HTML and CSS.

Among her career accomplishments, Ms. Krogh is most proud to have recently been recognized by Spine, a leading online publication covering the world of book design. One of her designs was featured in the digital magazine, marking a major milestone in her work being acknowledged. Beyond that honor, Ms. Krogh has art directed numerous New York Times best-selling books and has been featured in People Magazine. Books that she has worked on have been celebrated with a PubWest Book Design Award in 2016; a Readers’ Choice Award from Goodreads in 2017 and nominations in 2018 and 2024; a Barnes & Noble Book Club Pick in 2018; and an Edgar Award nomination in 2025.

Outside of her professional achievements, Ms. Krogh is a loving mother to two daughters who she is glad to have raised in a home filled with books and music. She is deeply proud of the trajectory of her daughters, both of whom are pursuing careers in male-dominated fields, one as an electrician and the other as an airline pilot. When she’s not wrapped up in a project, Ms. Krogh relaxes by watching movies, reading and spending time with her two dogs. A lifelong animal lover, she also volunteers with a local animal rescue group.

Over the next few years, Ms. Krogh aims to continue building her freelance art director portfolio. She is eager to collaborate with new publishing companies, artists and authors. Ms. Krogh has considered transitioning into a creative director position, but she has decided that she gains more fulfilment from the creative process than from management. As such, she looks forward to staying hands-on and creatively engaged through her work with Adrienne Krogh Designs.
