Joel Rodriguez, Chief Executive Officer at Metal Ninja Studios, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Graphic Design.
Mr. Rodriguez, a leader in intellectual property development and comic book production, has earned recognition for his innovative approach and entrepreneurial drive. As the chief executive officer of Metal Ninja Studios since 2019, he has developed strategic and go-to-market plans that help clients and intellectual property holders transform their ideas into compelling comic books. Under his leadership, the company achieved six-figure revenue within three years, expanded its team and launched a flagship service. In February 2025, Mr. Rodriguez introduced Concept to Comic with a soft launch at MEGACON Orlando, where he partnered with novelist Charlie Rose to adapt DragonEra into a comic. By October of the same year, Mr. Rose debuted his first comic at their Baltimore table, marking a significant milestone for Metal Ninja Studios and reinforcing its mission to empower storytellers and brands through the comic book medium.
Before launching Metal Ninja Studios, Mr. Rodriguez co-founded Brink of Reality Productions in 2020, where he contributed to the company’s creative direction and business development for two years. He also served as the head of design at Scout Comics & Entertainment Holdings, Inc., from 2020 to 2021, overseeing visual branding and design initiatives that elevated the company’s profile in the industry, following a brief stint as a production designer in 2020.
Before entering the creative sector, Mr. Rodriguez built a foundation in finance and management. He worked as an accountant at Priority Credit Union from 2018 to 2019, managing financial records and supporting organizational operations as part of a small team. He previously served as a parish relationship specialist for the Diocese of Orlando between 2016 and 2018, fostering community engagement and strengthening partnerships across the organization through a variety of tasks.
Mr. Rodriguez’s educational background has played a pivotal role in shaping his business acumen and creative vision. He earned an Associate of Arts in finance at Grand Rapids Community College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in 2014 and a Bachelor of Science in finance from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan, in 2016. While pursuing his degrees, Mr. Rodriguez completed internships in accounting at Chemical Financial Corporation and in commercial credit analysis at Chemical Bank. His commitment to continuous learning is reflected in certifications, such as Adobe Illustrator CC from the International Academy of Computer Training and Branding for Designs and Learning Logo Design from LinkedIn Corporation.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Rodriguez is committed to civic engagement and community service. He volunteered with North End Community Ministry and served as a children’s activity partner with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Volusia/Flagler Counties.
Throughout his career, Mr. Rodriguez has been recognized for his expertise and contributions. He was nominated for a Ringo Award for Graphic Design in 2019 and received a nomination for Best Lettering in 2025. Mr. Rodriguez attributes his success to a combination of faith, even when his path was uncertain, and the steadfast support of his wife. He believes that entrepreneurship requires not only personal resilience but also unwavering encouragement from loved ones.
Looking ahead, Mr. Rodriguez aims to establish Metal Ninja Studios as the leading hub for comic book creation and education by launching Concept to Comic™ Academy, a platform dedicated to teaching both the craft and business aspects of making comics. Through these efforts, he seeks to empower storytellers with resources that challenge industry norms and foster new talent across all levels of experience. Mr. Rodriguez’s journey exemplifies how aiming beyond perceived limits can accelerate achievement and inspire others within creative industries.
