Beyond her work at Artistic Amazing Arts, Ms. Di Maio’s diverse background includes serving as an executive officer and educator with the Port St. Lucie Power Squadron, Florida, from 2018 to 2023. In this role, she taught boating safety courses, contributed as a photographer and edited organizational publications, while fostering community engagement and promoting maritime education. In addition, she served for five years as a Coast Guard Certified Vessel Examiner for the State of Florida.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Di Maio owned a driftwood design business from 2007 to 2008. During this time, she received a Cambridge Who’s Who Official Proclamation in recognition of her inclusion in the Executive, Professional and Entrepreneurial Registry. She also worked as a piano instructor in Panama Canal Hill and held a position in public transportation in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Di Maio devoted 23 years to public service in law enforcement from 1982 to 2005. Initially serving in the Miami Police Department, she advanced to the rank of police officer. In 1988, she was transferred to the Metro-Dade Department of Corrections, where she continued her service and ultimately retired from law enforcement. Throughout her tenure, she demonstrated resilience, adaptability and leadership in a demanding environment.

In addition, Ms. Di Maio served in the U.S. Army as a communications specialist, rising to the role of platoon leader. She developed expertise in communications and cryptography—skills that laid a strong foundation for her later achievements in public service.

Ms. Di Maio earned a bachelor’s degree from Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida in 1987. Her commitment to lifelong learning is reflected in her continued pursuit of advanced training in artificial intelligence. Over the past two years, she has earned multiple certifications and completed an intensive AI boot camp in 2024, demonstrating her dedication to innovation and her desire to remain at the forefront of technology in the arts. She has also held a Broker’s Real Estate License since 2000 and remains active in the field, further reflecting her business acumen and professional versatility.

Active in her field, Ms. Di Maio is a member of the Treasure Coast Photography Club, the Fort Pierce Art Club, the Port St. Lucie Cultural Alliance, the A.E. Backus Museum & Gallery and the Professional Artist Association. She is also deeply committed to charitable work, including supporting juvenile diabetes initiatives through the Miami Police Department, donating driftwood artwork to Alzheimer’s causes, and contributing to the Boys & Girls Club and the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.

Ms. Di Maio’s creative accomplishments have been recognized with numerous awards, including a Letter of Recognition from “Through the Eye of the Camera” at the A.E. Backus Museum & Gallery in 2024, a First Place Award in black-and-white photography at a local museum in 2025, and recognition as Artist of the Month in 2026. She has also earned more than 40 additional awards in photography competitions.

Throughout her life, Ms. Di Maio has attributed her success to resilience and unwavering determination. Her drive to overcome obstacles is fueled by a desire to transform challenges into opportunities for growth.

Looking ahead, Ms. Di Maio plans to further expand her expertise in artificial intelligence while mentoring others who have faced significant life challenges.
