Mark E. Rendleman, artist and entrepreneur, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of fine art.
Mr. Rendleman has distinguished himself across the span of more than five decades in the field of arts and crafts. Multidisciplinary in his approach to creation, he has garnered a wealth of expertise in various art forms, including painting, drawing, collage work, photography, filmmaking and computer graphics. With a particular focus on rocks and figures as subjects of artistic interest, Mr. Rendleman is proud to have amassed a large and diverse personal museum, the Caves, which is an underground exhibit in Embudo, New Mexico, that features a variety of controversial and provocative works from various artists. A lifelong student and learner, Mr. Rendleman has previously served as an associate professor at Middlebury College and San Diego State University. Likewise well-versed in real estate development, he has contributed to or overseen more than 30 building projects, mostly centering on earthworks, historical rehabilitation and public facilities.
Mr. Rendleman first sought a formal education at the University of Washington, from which he earned bachelor’s degrees in arts and psychology in 1972. Following this accomplishment, he received a Master of Fine Arts at the University of California Santa Barbara in 1974. In accounting for his subsequent success, he largely credits his deep and abiding passion for what he does, as well as his gratitude for life and the opportunities he has been afforded. Looking toward the future, Mr. Rendleman aspires to continue expanding the scope of his career as a fine artist and working outdoors.
