Alex Michael Goldblum, artistic director, filmmaker, photographer and author at Goldblum Media, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in film.

Carving out a distinguished career, Mr. Goldblum has excelled in the field of media production. Currently, he is the artistic director and filmmaker at Goldblum Media, a position he has held since 2012. He leads a team of seasoned professionals dedicated to bringing clients’ visions to life. At Goldblum Media, he oversees a comprehensive suite of services, including high-definition video and audio production, documentary filmmaking, photography, web design, web publishing, and book publishing. He collaborates closely with clients to ensure their stories are told with precision and passion, handling every aspect of the creative process from storyboarding to post-production. Additionally, he has been a sound and video permit list member at the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees’ Pittsburgh chapter – Local 489 – since 2023. He also worked as a video engineer at The MediaPreserve from 2018 to 2022, ensuring the preservation and quality of media content.

Mr. Goldblum began his career as an apprentice in film, video, and screenwriting at Pittsburgh Filmmakers from 1999 to 2003. He has since held various roles, including web developer at Congregation Poale Zedeck, adjunct faculty at the Community College of Allegheny County, and data management for the 5th Annual Roots Picnic at Okayplayer.com in 2012. He also worked as a professional video salesman at B&H Photo Video from 2007 to 2010, assistant producer of web video at Vault.com, freelance video producer and editor at Temple University, equipment office assistant at Temple University, and production assistant at the Athletic Training Network.

Mr. Goldblum specializes in creating, producing, and editing documentary films. He is currently working on a new documentary, tentatively titled “The Raj of Dhrangadhra,” which supplements a photography book of the same name. He has also produced two documentary short films in India: “The Snake Charmer” in 2005, which was screened at the Temple Global Conference and the Visual Anthropology Film Festival at Temple, and “Visions of the Stone City,” filmed in Gujarat in 2018. His creative works have earned him notable recognition, including an honorable mention for his experimental video “I Love You So Much” at the International Student Film and Video Festival at the Beijing Film Academy in 2005. Additionally, he holds great pride in his documentary film project, “The Thin Green Line,” filmed in Israel and the West Bank in 2011 and recently completed in 2022, which received an award from The IndieFEST Film Awards in 2022. He was also inducted into the Russell Conwell Society at Temple University and the Alvin Johnson Society at The New School.

Mr. Goldblum has also led a humanitarian relief initiative for the Jhallesvar Philanthropic Charitable Trust since 2018, which provided vital medical and food assistance to those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Through successful crowdfunding, he raised $11,000, which was used to procure essential supplies for local health clinics and distribute food aid to families facing financial difficulties. He also previously contributed his time as a grant writer, fundraiser, and video producer for The Living Theatre from 2008 to 2012 and donates to Temple University and The New School.

Mr. Goldblum attributes his success to the exceptional education he received at Temple University. Additionally, he credits his achievements to his penchant for exploration and his inclination to utilize technology to educate and enlighten people. He believes that the key to success lies in generating innovative ideas at the opportune moment. He says what separates him from others in the field is his non-fiction approach to storytelling, drawing inspiration from real-life events and experiences. His focus on visual anthropology and cinéma vérité filmmaking style further distinguishes his work. He aspires to be considered a trailblazer in non-fiction moviemaking. Having traveled to over 25 countries, he is dedicated to going the extra mile to tell a story and learn about different cultures and places. He believes, “You’ve got to go there to know there.”
