Charles Arthur Young, retired teacher and published author, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements and leadership in Education.

Mr. Young is recognized for his tireless work ethic in the field of education. Now retired from the classroom after 35 years, he has since become a published author. During his tenure in education, he became well-known for fostering critical thinking and literary appreciation among his students. In the most recent phase of his professional journey, he taught at Cimarron-Memorial High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, for over a decade, where he specialized in English literature and drama. During this period, he collaborated with colleagues and students to produce musicals, including acting in productions like “Little Shop of Horrors.” His time at Cimarron-Memorial High School was distinguished by a vibrant classroom environment that encouraged exploration of classic works like the “Iliad” and the “Odyssey,” deepening both his and his students’ appreciation for literature.

Before teaching at Cimarron-Memorial High School, Mr. Young was a faculty member at Rancho High School in Las Vegas for over five years. Rancho High School presented unique challenges due to its environment, but he found fulfillment in supporting students through adversity. Before that, Mr. Young spent several years teaching at Clark High School, also in Las Vegas, where he continued to develop his pedagogical approach across multiple subjects.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Young taught at Indian Springs, a small school north of Las Vegas, where he instructed students in elementary physical education, photography, history and English. His versatility as an educator was further demonstrated during his year teaching at a junior high school in Las Vegas. However, he ultimately decided that the age group was not the best fit for his teaching style.

While teaching in the public school setting, Mr. Young’s dedication to student development was also evident through his leadership of legal competition teams and debate clubs. Although recruitment challenges prevented the formation of a debate team, he guided students through mock trial competitions, leading them to secure second place at the state level.

Before settling in Las Vegas, Mr. Young substituted for several years in Seattle after returning from international teaching assignments. He spent one year teaching on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Montana, where he gained valuable insights into diverse educational settings. Mr. Young’s career began with a formative experience teaching in Melbourne, Australia, where he enjoyed connecting with relatives and exploring regions such as Tasmania and Perth.

As an author, Mr. Young’s most notable work has been “Murder Will Always Out,” a novel completed in 2025 after more than 10 years of research and writing. The book addresses contemporary issues, such as the importance of vaccines and the dangers of cults, while exploring overlooked historical figures like Kate Carew and David Phillips. Mr. Young considers this novel his most significant achievement, and he continues to advocate for its message as relevant to current societal challenges. Mr. Young also authored an article on Shakespeare and is actively engaged in research related to the Shakespeare authorship question, a project that has occupied him for many years.

Mr. Young earned both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from Bellingham College in Washington. He attributes much of his success to the influence of exceptional teachers encountered during his formative years at Renton High School in Renton, Washington, where he earned his high school diploma.

Civically engaged, Mr. Young is a member of the Freemasons. He has also contributed as a donor to various organizations and causes, including his alma mater, Bellingham College, local churches and the Chuck Young Scholarship fund.

Throughout his distinguished career as an educator, author and civic contributor, Mr. Young has demonstrated unwavering dedication to intellectual inquiry, student mentorship and literary scholarship. In light of his achievements, he has been recognized with several honors, such as the Silver Spartan Award from Cimarron-Memorial High School in 2007. Looking ahead, Mr. Young plans to return to research on Shakespeare to produce a nonfiction book about Edward de Vere’s potential role as the true author behind Shakespeare’s works. He is focused on compiling visual materials for this project while considering publishing options that would allow him to share these insights more broadly.
