Marc Aronson, Artist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in artistic expression.
Dr. Aronson was exposed to the realm of art from a young age due to the influence of his mother, who took him to art galleries and museums and encouraged him to take art classes in his youth. He subsequently pursued a formal education at Western Washington University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 1971. He then attended New York University, obtaining a Master of Arts in 1989 and Doctor of Arts in 2004. Since 1989, he has been completing postgraduate coursework in studio and environmental art at New York University.
A prolific painter, Dr. Aronson constructs his artwork out of the process of “rephrasing,” which is redoing, destroying and restoring a painting to resemble a work that is rampant with memories of its own production. As a result, his paintings exhibit an antiquated look with an iridescent, internal light. It is through this light where Dr. Aronson’s recollections are most pronounced, as his paintings hold within them a life of their own.
A fellow of the New York Foundation for the Arts and National Endowment for the Arts, Dr. Aronson has been displayed in several solo exhibitions and group exhibitions throughout his career. Most recently, he was showcased with other artists in the London Pop Up Air Fair in London and the Las Laguna Gallery in Laguna Beach, CA, in 2017. Prior to these exhibitions, Dr. Aronson’s paintings have been presented in both national and international collections, including in New York City, the Republic of Korea, Argentina, Japan and China, among other locations. However, the shining moment of Dr. Aronson’s career was when his artwork was featured in the O.K. Harris Works of Art Gallery in 2009.
In recognition of his exceptional contributions to art, Dr. Aronson has been selected for inclusion in several editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the East and Who’s Who in the World. Married to Sue Elizabeth Steiner since 1971 with one son, Dr. Aronson enjoys traveling in his spare time.
