Eric Jesse Norman

Title: Laboratory Director, Medical Researcher
Company: Norman Clinical Lab, Inc.
Location: Cincinnati, Ohio, United States

Eric Norman, Laboratory Director and Medical Researcher at Norman Clinical Lab, Inc. has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in biochemistry and biophysics.

Upon looking back on the highlights of his career, Dr. Norman cites developing a test for B-12 deficiency from gases with his co-workers at the University of Cincinnati to be the one that stands out the most. This test, which is more accurate than a blood test, determines the level of deficiency through the body’s tissues. When he first realized that he was interested in science, he knew he wanted to be on the cutting edge of the field.   A career in medical research was the kind of work that called to him while he was serving in the military. In his current endeavors, he is the laboratory director of Amin Family Practice Associates PSC, the Cornerstone Project, LLC, Life Spring Recovery, Lexar Laboratory & Analysis, LLC and is the president and CEO of Norman Clinical Laboratory, Inc. Early in his career, he taught at Texas A&M University and the University of Cincinnati. He further refined his career in medical research with the Monarch Foundation, the Molecular Diagnostic Research Center, the DNA Testing Services and the Associated Pain Medicine.

Dr. Norman prepared for a career in this field by first earning a Bachelor of Science in physics from the University of Missouri in 1964. He continued at the Southern Illinois University to receive a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry in 1970. Following this, he received a Master of Science in biochemistry in 1972 and a PhD in biochemistry from Texas A&M University in 1977. In addition to his work in different laboratories, he had a longstanding career in the US Army and the US Army Reserves, serving up until the rank of colonel in 1991. He was inducted to the Missouri Hall of Fame in 2009 and has received such accolades as the Legion of Merit and the Bronze Star. He maintains affiliation with the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Mass Spectrometry, the Mental Retardation Research Center and Sigma Xi.
