Christine E. Greene

Christine E. Greene, Artist at Caricatures by Chris Green, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in painting and drawing.

Passionate about art for as long as she can remember, Ms. Greene knew there was nothing else she’d rather do. She worked hard to make her dream of becoming an artist a reality, first earning a diploma from the Newark School of Fine Industrial Arts and then earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Moore College of Art. Upon graduation, Ms. Greene spent nearly a decade garnering experience as a textile designer at Lowenstein & Sons Co. and at Schwartz & Leibman Textiles. She developed a particular interest in the everyday lives of people, so she also began making strides as a portrait artist, fine artist, and caricature artist. In 1981, Ms. Greene decided to step out on her own as a party caricaturist in Syosset, New York, and in 1983, she opened Caricatures by Chris Greene. She continues to work in both capacities to this day, and is represented by the B.J. Spoke Gallery in Huntington, New York.

One of the highlights of Ms. Greene’s journey was being accepted into the Long Island Branch of the National League of American Pen Women in 2015. She is also proud of her serving as the illustrator of “French Fries for Siblings: The Forgotten Children of Autism” in 2009 and of her continuous contributions to Public TV, Channel 13, WLIW21, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Ms. Greene attributes her success to the fact that she never gave up and never sat on her laurels. She consistently practiced, took courses to expand her talent, and networked with her peers. She remains a member of the Independent Art Society in Plainview, New York, and the Suburban Art League in Syosset, New York.

In recognition of her talent, Ms. Greene received an honorable mention for her piece, “A Quotidian Life – Finding Beauty in the Ordinary,” by the Art League of Long Island in 2017, a Charles Merendino Memorial Award from the Suburban Art League Annual Open Juried Show in 2017, and a Certificate of Excellence from Holbein Inc. and the Independent Art Society in 2016. She also received awards of excellence from the Suburban Art League Annual Open Art Show, the Huntington Township Art League, and the Channel 21 Art Show, as well as an art award from Grumbacker Art Supplies.
