Lindsey Williams

Title: Author/Owner
Company: Open-Eyed Productions
Location: Summit, New Jersey, United States

Lindsey Williams, Author and Owner at Open-eyed Productions, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists and Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in computer science, digital media, and fantasy fiction.

Ms. Williams is a self-taught artist, computer scientist, and author of the fantasy epic “The Ebony Project.” Medical problems and unaddressed learning disabilities made Ms. Williams’ childhood a challenge, and she found inspiration and purpose in genre fiction, movies, and video games. The Peter Jackson film adaptations of “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy were a flashpoint for the young Ms. Williams. Wildly disappointed by the popular series, she set out to create the work that she wanted to consume and devoted much of her time to refining her writing and visual art skills. She established Open-Eyed Productions in 2003 as a clearinghouse for her creative work, which focused at the time on the publication of her novel, “The Ebony Project.”

Inquisitive, driven, and a dedicated autodidact, Ms. Williams received a perfect score on her ACT exam and was accepted to both Stanford University and the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where she completed coursework in computer science, digital storytelling, and media arts. By 2008, she was working as an independent graphical computing consultant and inker for Cognito Comics, and in 2011, she was recruited for a CFX research and development role for the Academy Award-winning New Zealand-based visual effects studio, Weta Digital.

Unfortunately, Ms. Williams recently went through trying times in regard to her written work. She was in the process of developing assets and a script treatment for her original fantasy writing when she found herself embroiled in an intellectual property suit after her work was leaked and stolen. After resolving the issue, she returned to the United States as a visiting researcher to a Columbia University working group in 2013. Today, she continues to write and research. Ms. Williams is currently working on another high fantasy epic, which she looks forward to publishing in the coming years.
