Karen Schuman, Artist, Founder and Director of the Dancing Krow Studio, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership.
Ms. Schuman is an accomplished professional artist with more than 25 years of dedication to her craft. Since 1996, she has excelled as the founder and director of the Dancing Krow Studio. She first became involved in studio and gallery ownership after she and her husband rented vacant storefronts in a struggling area of their community in Oak Park, Illinois. Initially, Ms. Schuman’s gallery was named The Art House, and she ran the business as a nonprofit organization. Among her accomplishments, she won first and second place at the Art League in Oak Park. Through her art, she aims to reach others and teach them how to live in total harmony with the Earth and nature.
In preparation for her career, Ms. Schuman completed coursework in oil painting at the Edward Cathiony Studio of Art. She also completed coursework in the secretarial training program at Robert Morris College, after which she garnered experience as a personal assistant at the Garfield-Linn Advertising Agency from 1981 to 1983. Ms. Schuman contributed for over a decade to the AmericanArtwork.net publications, and in 2024 and 202 to the International “Enter Into Art” books, including “Inspiration Tuscany,” “Excellent Art,” and “Art Chateau” publications. Since 1996, she has been a member and collaborator in founding the Oak Park Arts District and is a member of the Oak Park Art League. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, walking, hiking, and traveling. Ms. Schuman has won Top Artist of 2024 and is receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award in December 2025 from the International Association of Top Professionals.
