His experience in the newspaper industry further honed his skills, translating into commercial work. Known for his versatility, he excels in various types of photography, including shooting for resorts, architecture, food, and portraits of chefs and executives. He attributes his success to his diverse skill set, and strong work ethic, as well as his ability to manage smaller-scale productions and direct and coordinate teams, ensuring that client expectations are consistently met with precision and professionalism.
Mr. Nuttle advises the next generation of photographers to approach their craft with a strong business mindset. He emphasizes the importance of taking business classes and running a photography business professionally, which includes having good accountants, solid contracts, and strong negotiating skills. Additionally, he recommends having a good attorney and being able to communicate effectively with corporate clients or decision-makers in a business context. In his personal time, he enjoys practicing CrossFit, engaging in outdoor activities, paddleboarding, and relaxing on the beach or by the pool.
