Ms. Marx, principal and lead designer at Idology Interiors, has been at the helm of her full-service design company in Naples, Florida, alongside two other talented designers. Specializing in custom new construction and renovation, model home staging, commercial design and yacht interiors, she strives to design spaces that meet the needs of each client while showcasing their unique personalities. Ms. Marx also focuses on elegance and functionality, devising customized plans that align with their vision and create ideal living spaces.
Having led a diverse, rewarding career before launching Idology Interiors, Ms. Marx was a journalist who began working for BBC in New York City and London in the mid-1960s as part of the news staff. Over the next two decades, she landed roles with Time Life Films Inc. as a television and film critic, with Station WSHU-FM Radio as a producer and co-host, and with Reelin Round Your Town on cable television as a host, writer and feature broadcaster. Ms. Marx also worked in local theater doing administrative work for the American Shakespeare Theater and the Connecticut Grand Opera and owned a local art gallery in Florida.
Ms. Marx completed coursework at the Art Institute in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This early influence shaped her creative side, ultimately leading her to a successful career in interior design. Honored for her work, she received an ACE Award. Her work has also been featured in various local magazines, including Deco Drive. Attributing much of her professional success to her family’s support, Ms. Marx also values the importance of maintaining a work/life balance where everyone can thrive. Looking toward the future, Ms. Marx intends to pen her first book.
