Elizabeth A. Tedesco, MME, Owner at Putnam Music Center, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Music and Music Management.

Ms. Tedesco, a leading professional in the music industry, has managed Putnam Music Center since 2024. At the helm of her music school in Mahopac, New York, she offers lessons to students of all ages across a broad spectrum of wind, string and percussion instruments, such as the flute, piano, guitar, violin and drums, among many others. Lessons are designed to provide students with a first-class musical education via trained instructors with extensive experience across various areas of music and styles. These lessons are available in both private and group settings.

As part of her responsibilities as the owner of her music school, Ms. Tedesco teaches violin and viola, provides voice lessons, and conducts a choir. Beyond these tasks, she manages all aspects of daily operations, including ordering necessary sheet music and any musical instruments needed, as well as administrative tasks. Ms. Tedesco also ensures the success of her employees, encompassing a dozen instructors.

Beyond instructing music, Ms. Tedesco sells and rents instruments, sheet music and accessories. She also provides instrument repair. Furthermore, Ms. Tedesco recently expanded her offerings on-site by introducing a new art program featuring classes from Fine Arts Studio.

Ms. Tedesco holds an undergraduate degree from Concordia College in Moorehead, Minnesota. She also secured a Master of Music in performance and education from Campbellsville University in Campbellsville, Kentucky. Earning her master’s degree in 2023 was particularly rewarding, as she completed the rigorous program while raising three children and managing a household while working full time. Beyond her degrees, Ms. Tedesco holds a music garden certification.

Active in her professional community, Ms. Tedesco remains at the forefront of her industry as a member of the World Civic Orchestra, where musicians from various countries come together for a week every two years to assemble a concert. She is also a member of the National Association for Music Education. Additionally, Ms. Tedesco remains active with Song Catchers, an after-school music program, where she founded the early childhood music program at age 17.

In light of her success, Ms. Tedesco was named as the Music Teacher of the Year by Song Catchers in 2012, where she presently volunteers. She was also featured in a local publication, highlighting her entrepreneurial success, and was awarded an Outstanding Volunteerism Award in 2014 for her generosity.

Passionate about music since her early childhood, Ms. Tedesco began dancing at age two and playing the violin at five. These experiences led her to pursue a career in music education. Her success since then has been due to her dedication to remaining abreast of industry trends and the ever-evolving digital music and computer software. Adapting to new technologies has been pivotal to Ms. Tedesco’s ability to thrive as a business owner and leader in her field.

Looking toward the future, Ms. Tedesco intends to encourage greater community participation and appreciation for the arts. She believes that music, art and science are interrelated and should be emphasized more, often overlooked due to obligations to core subjects, such as mathematics, and sports.
