Rose Gennaro, Fine Artist at Rose Gennaro Fine Art, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements and leadership in the field of Art.

Ms. Gennaro has established a distinguished career as a fine artist, demonstrating unwavering dedication to her craft for over 55 years. As the founder and principal of Rose Gennaro Fine Art for the past 20 years, she has been responsible for creating original artwork, managing marketing initiatives, overseeing social media engagement, exhibiting her pieces and fulfilling commissions. Ms. Gennaro also maintains her own website to ensure her artwork is up to date.

Amassing an extensive portfolio over the years, Ms. Gennaro’s expertise encompasses oil painting with a focus on landscapes, historical and theme-related subjects, architecturally significant buildings and well-known landmarks. She also frequently paints sunrises and sunsets, waterways and boats, skylines and other inspiring subjects. This breadth of subject matter highlights Ms. Gennaro’s versatility and mastery in the field.

In addition to her studio practice, Ms. Gennaro has contributed to arts education as an online art teacher with organizations such as InstaArts, the After-School Arts Program and the Philadelphia Arts in Education Partnership. She developed and published an online course titled “Oil Painting: Creating a Still Life,” which is available through UDEMY and her own platform. This project required Ms. Gennaro to write, produce and film instructional content independently, an endeavor that exemplifies her commitment to innovation in art education.

Ms. Gennaro’s academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in art education from the State University of New York at New Paltz, followed by a master’s degree in fine art from the College of New Rochelle (now Mercy University) in New Rochelle, New York. This formal training laid the foundation for her technical proficiency and pedagogical approach, supporting both her creative output and educational initiatives. Beyond her formal education, Ms. Gennaro holds credentials as a certified tourism ambassador from Dutchess Tourism Inc., doing business as Destination Dutchess, and as a volunteer ambassador for Walkway Over the Hudson in Poughkeepsie, New York.

Ms. Gennaro’s professional affiliations include membership in several respected organizations, including the Woodstock Art Association, Arts Mid-Hudson, Artists Collective of Hyde Park, Barrett Art Center and Mill Street Loft (now The Art Effect). These associations have provided opportunities for collaboration and exhibition while reinforcing her standing within the regional arts community.

Equally extensive is Ms. Gennaro’s civic involvement. She has served as a volunteer ambassador for Walkway Over the Hudson, participated in live painting events, and donated artwork for fundraisers, including Starry Starry Night, from 2022 to 2025. She has also volunteered as an art teacher for Walkway Connections and contributed live paintings for auctions benefiting various organizations, including the Culinary Institute of America at Hyde Park in 2023 and 2025, as well as People’s Place in Poughkeepsie in 2025. Through these efforts, Ms. Gennaro has made a tangible impact on local fundraising initiatives while fostering appreciation for the arts.

Throughout her career, Ms. Gennaro has achieved notable recognition for her ability to address significant life events through art. Among her most prominent accomplishments was the creation of a series of paintings inspired by pivotal moments, such as the events of September 11th. These works were exhibited publicly and received acclaim for their emotional depth and artistic merit. Ms. Gennaro’s paintings have also been featured in a local New York exhibit commemorating 9/11 and were the subject of an article in Southern and Northern Dutchess News that highlighted her depictions of hope during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ms. Gennaro’s work has been showcased in numerous exhibitions and projects. More recently, she was a solo exhibit artist at the Inn at Bellefield Exhibit and an exhibit artist at the Office of Assemblywoman Dee Dee Barrett in 2025. She was also a participant in the Mayfest and Octoberfest Art Festivals at Walkway Over the Hudson, the Poughkeepsie Open Studio Tour and Art Studio Views, and was included in various solo and featured exhibits in Rhinebeck, as well as the 9/11 Inspired Works Exhibit, among others.

In light of her success, Ms. Gennaro has been recognized with honors, including the President’s Club Award from Laerdal Medical Corporation. She attributes her success to perseverance, determination, faith and an unwavering belief in herself.

Having discovered her artistic talent during high school, Ms. Gennaro did not initially major in art during college. However, she did pursue art classes while raising her family. Once her children were grown, she devoted herself fully to developing her career as an artist. Looking ahead, Ms. Gennaro intends to further expand her involvement in art, increase community engagement and pursue new opportunities, including exhibiting in different areas, while contributing meaningfully through both artwork and volunteerism.
