Lora Melone-Elliott, Director of Victory Theatre at Venuworks of Evansville LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements and leadership in Venue Management.

Mrs. Melone-Elliott has established a distinguished career in venue management, marked by a series of progressive roles and notable achievements. Since 2022, she has served as the director of victory theatre under Venuworks of Evansville LLC, where she oversees all aspects of the facility’s operations. Her responsibilities include managing requests from Signature School (U.S. top-ranked charter school) for academic events, responding to correspondence, booking performances, cultivating relationships with agents and promoters, and actively seeking new shows and local rentals to enhance the theater’s programming. Mrs. Melone-Elliott is recognized for her expertise in production, booking, and music, which has contributed significantly to her success in the industry.

A defining accomplishment during Mrs. Melone-Elliott’s tenure as the director was orchestrating the restoration and installation of the theater’s iconic marquee. This project, which spanned nearly three decades and involved multiple directors, culminated under her leadership. Mrs. Melone-Elliott coordinated the installation process, organized a memorable lighting ceremony, and reengaged both the legacy Friends of Victory members and the broader community. The successful illumination of the marquee stands as a testament to her dedication and is regarded as a career highlight.

Before her current role, Mrs. Melone-Elliott briefly worked at the Ford Center in 2021 as a production manager. That year marked the 10-year birthday of the Ford Center and included several high profile shows including Morgan Wallen, George Strait, and Eric Church. She also excelled as an event coordinator at Victory Theatre between 2016 and 2021. During this period, Mrs. Melone-Elliott transitioned from food and beverage services into operations, taking on responsibilities such as booking shows and overseeing event execution. Her ability to adapt quickly and manage complex events positioned her for advancement within the organization.

Ms. Melone-Elliott began her professional journey in 2011 as a suites and catering supervisor at Ford Center with Venuworks of Evansville LLC. She managed backstage catering operations and delivered exceptional service to suite guests at concerts and sporting events. Notably, Mrs. Melone-Elliott became the first and only part-time employee to advance to the director level within the organization until January 2026.

As a child, Mrs. Melone-Elliott was immersed in music, beginning at age 4 with piano lessons from a formal instructor, which led to classical training and participation in numerous competitions. She also learned to play the French horn before transitioning to percussion and melodic instruments in Junior High and High School band. Although encouraged by family members to pursue a degree in music, Mrs. Melone-Elliott chose not to make it her profession, preferring instead to preserve her passion for music while forging a unique career path. Years later, she completed college coursework that provided a foundation for her career. She also earned credentials as a certified venue manager.

In addition to her education, Mrs. Melone-Elliott’s commitment to professional development is reflected in her tenacity and dedication to advocate for Evansville. Civically engaged, she volunteers with Mickey’s Kingdom Park, Friends of Victory Theatre, and the Evansville African American Museum & Cultural Center, and has participated in hosting a Martin Luther King Jr. Day event to help benefit the museum.

Mrs. Melone-Elliott’s career reflects an unwavering dedication to excellence in venue management, community involvement and fostering opportunities for others within the arts sector. She attributes much of her success to determination and stubbornness, qualities that have enabled her to overcome challenges and achieve significant milestones throughout her career. Looking ahead, Mrs. Melone-Elliott aims to strengthen the Friends of Victory nonprofit organization by creating opportunities for local musicians to engage with Victory Theatre beyond traditional performances. She envisions using various spaces within the facility, including breakout rooms, banquet halls and mezzanines, to provide artists with dynamic platforms to showcase their talents and connect with the community.
