A few of her main accomplishments as a singer/songwriter and/or promoter are: Nominated for a Grammy Award in 2012, (Judy was to be nominated for a Grammy award by 3-time Grammy-winning producer, Phil York, who passed on before he’d had a chance to send it to the Grammy team); having been dubbed “Wonder Woman of the ’90s” after she released “Woman of the ’90s” and went on to release worldwide 19 compilation CDs in 3 genres that included her original songs along with over 100 others in 5-year period from 1994 to 1999; have an original song she co-wrote on the online Roots Gospel chart stay at #1 for nearly 5 months and having another song featured on a national TV show at Easter time. She has earned a multitude of honors and award nominations across her illustrious career. She most recently was a finalist in the World Songwriting Contest. Additionally, she was named Diamond of the Decade by PRN in 2015 and received the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame Award in 2014. She was Great Country Radio’s Artist of the Year in 2012 and was inducted into the Independent Country Music Association of Germany’s Hall of Fame in 2001. In 1999, she achieved Album of the Year honors at the Best of Texas Music Awards, won the Song of the Year award from the Independent Country Music Association of Germany, and was bestowed with the International Female Recording Artist of the Year award by the North American Country Music Associations International. Notably, she was the Woman of the Year in Port St. Lucie, Florida, in 1990.
Ms. Welden has excelled as the owner of Judy Welden Enterprises since 1993. She previously served as a representative of World Ventures Travel Club from 2014 to 2017. A publishing owner of Songrite Creations Productions (BMI) from 1993 to the present as well as of Sine Qua Non Music (American Society of Composers) from 1993 until 2017, she held the title of record label owner at Heartfelt Records from 1994 to 2002 and at Treasure Coast Records from 1993 until 2002. She additionally worked as a chiropractic assistant at Blvd. Chiropractic Center from 1985 to 2002 and as a booking agent at Judy Atwell Agency from 1977 until 1983, having been an AFM Union booking agent in St. Louis, MO during that same period, which was named Songrite Productions.
Exceptionally talented across a variety of disciplines fields, Ms. Welden designed and patented the Unique Bandana Hat without an attorney, recorded dozens of #1 singles on independent charts, and is the author of “An Unstoppable Survivor: Memoir of Singer/Songwriter Judy Welden,” that includes 90 of her original song lyrics and discography and was critically acclaimed as an Amazon Featured Book of the Week December 17-23, 2021. Committed to serving her community, she has performed volunteer work for Guideposts from February 2014 to September 2017. Moreover, she is the founder of the Fairness in Royalty Payments Campaign which she started to appeal to the performing rights organizations in order that independent songwriters & publishers would get their due share and has previously been a member of the St. Lucie Chamber of Commerce. Prior to embarking on her professional journey, she earned a diploma from Butler High School in 1956.
Devoted to her industry, Ms. Welden founded the Treasure Coast Songwriters Association in 1993, is a member of NLAPW (National Leage of American Pen Women) and has been a member of the North America Country Music Association International, the Country Gospel Music Association, the European Country Music Association, and the Tennessee Songwriters Association International. Living by the motto of “Never give up,” she firmly believes that maintaining a positive outlook allows individuals to reach their goals and help other people live better lives. Judy’s goals include having her patented Bandana hat licensed soon, having her Memoir “An Unstoppable Survivor: Memoir of Singer/Songwriter Judy Welden” being made into a film (few others have accomplished so much) as well as having one or more of her published original songs recorded by a major recording artist and/or included in a film or TV.
