He considers this documentary a career highlight, driven by his deep respect for Andrea Bocelli and the foundation’s mission, as well as his passion for the project’s message and purpose.

Among other professional opportunities, Mr. Soofi previously served as the creative director at ZooomBox Entertainment Ltd. in Vancouver, Canada, from 2010 to 2013. During his tenure, he led creative projects and oversaw the development of innovative content, further honing his skills in visual storytelling and production management.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Soofi worked as an editor at BodogNation between 2006 and 2008, where he developed foundational skills in editing and post-production that would inform his later work as a director and creative leader.

He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in cinematography and film from Simon Fraser University in 2012, equipping him with advanced technical knowledge and artistic sensibility. He also holds diplomas in film production, 3D animation, and visual effects from Vancouver Film School in 2004 and 2005, respectively, where he was a recipient of an academic scholarship. These credentials provided him with a comprehensive understanding of both traditional filmmaking techniques and emerging digital technologies. In addition to his formal education, Mr. Soofi obtained a certification in entrepreneurship from the school of engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2018, which enhanced his business acumen and entrepreneurial mindset, enabling him to navigate the evolving landscape of media production with agility.

Mr. Soofi’s creative output encompasses several acclaimed projects. In addition to his role as the director of “Voices of Haiti,” where he brought international attention to the resilience of Haitian youth through music and documentary film, he is credited as the writer of the film script “The Journey to Happiness,” available on Amazon Prime.

Mr. Soofi’s work has garnered multiple accolades, including being selected as a winner by judges at the Zoom 48-hour Student Film Festival in 2003 and a nomination for “Transparency” as Best Feature Length Drama at the Leo Awards in 2011. He was also a winner of Kodak’s One Minute Motion Picture Film at the Vancouver International Film Festival.
