Nancy Lien Yang, Artist at the Taiwan Pastel Association, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in painting.
Ms. Yang has been president of the Pastel Association since
2012, and is an internationally known artist based in New York and Taipei,
Taiwan. She was elected as a member of the American Artists Professional League
in 2016, the Audubon Artists in 2013, and holds membership with the Spanish
Pastel Society, the Pastel Society of America, the North America Pastel Artists
Association, and the board of the Allied Artists of America. Ms. Yang has long
valued being herself and going with her heart, and is thankful to her teachers
Wende Caporale, Rae Smith, Daniel Greene, and Jason Chang. Winning artistic
awards on an international level has been the highlight of her career, and Ms.
Yang is currently considered a Marquis Who’s Who Industry Expert, having
appeared in the 68th, 69th, and 70th editions
of Who’s Who in America.
Inspired by the beauty of nature and a love of art, Ms. Yang
initially attended the University of California, Berkeley to study statistics,
earning a master’s degree in 1971. She entered the field as an analyst with the
department of computer services at Purchase College, State University of New
York becoming director of the department until 1996. She was recognized in the
art world with a 2003 Best in Show Award with the Village Gallery of Katonah
First Juried Competition and Art Exhibition in New York, and continued to
accrue a 2011 Artemiranda Award at the Second Biennial International Pastel
Show in Spain, followed by a 2012 Silver Award at the Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial
Hall National Pastel Competition in Taipei. Ms. Yang has been certified by the
Daniel E. Greene Workshop in 2002 and 2000.
Ms. Yang is looking forward to winning more awards, selling her paintings, and finding galleries to represent her art, and concentrating on the paintings themselves. She has been a signature member of the Pastel Society of America since 2009, and is a member of the Salmagundi Club. Ms. Yang’s most recent honor is the 2015 Allen J. Smith Memorial Award, given by the American Artists Professional League. In addition to painting, Ms. Yang also enjoys gardening.
