Audrey Findlen, Founder and President at The Entertainment Foundation, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Nonprofit Entertainment Curation and the Fine Arts.
Ms. Findlen has demonstrated a distinguished career marked by leadership, creativity and dedication to the arts and education. Since 2018, she has served as the founder and president of The Entertainment Foundation, an organization incorporated in November 2018 by the Arkansas Secretary of State. In this capacity, Ms. Findlen oversees all aspects of the foundation’s operations, guiding its mission to support and advance entertainment initiatives for veterans, senior adults and the underserved.
In addition to shows, The Entertainment Foundation offers various programs for the community, including The Visitation Show Signature Program, which takes place at long-term care facilities, senior centers, veteran’s facilities and other locations as requested. Professional entertainers come to the site to present an interactive, engaging show lasting about an hour. The foundation also offers couples dancing, toe-tapping time and other events.
Having begun her career in 1967 as a professional entertainer, Ms. Findlen continues to maintain an active presence, showcasing her talents across multiple platforms and contributing to the vibrancy of the performing arts community. Notably, her service as a public educator in the Old Town and South Portland school systems spanned three decades, from 1976 to 2006, where she was dedicated to fostering academic achievement and personal growth among students.
During her tenure in education, Ms. Findlen was active on various educational committees from 1981 to 2006. She also contributed significantly to the Miss Maine Scholarship Program during the same period, supporting scholarship opportunities and personal development for young women across the state. Between 1996 and 2006, Ms. Findlen contributed as committee chairperson for curriculum development and standard updates. In this position, she played a pivotal role in shaping educational frameworks and ensuring that curricula met evolving standards in arts education.
Outside the classroom, Ms. Findlen’s earlier experience also included serving as a teacher and choreographer at the Maine State School for the Performing Arts from 1984 to 1999. During this period, she influenced countless students through her instruction and creative vision, helping to cultivate emerging talent in dance and performance.
Early on, Ms. Findlen gained visibility as the artistic director of the Dance Theater of Southern Maine between 1979 and 1984. She was responsible for artistic programming, production oversight and community engagement, helping establish her reputation as a leader in the regional arts community.
Ms. Findlen’s academic background has been instrumental in her professional achievements. She earned a Bachelor of Science in elementary education and teaching, cum laude, from the University of Southern Maine in Portland in 1976. Years later, he returned to college, obtaining a Master of Education in educational leadership from the University of New England in Biddeford in 2001. Further enhancing her expertise, Ms. Findlen completed a professional development certification in nonprofit management at the University of Notre Dame in 2020. This credential has supported her effectiveness in leading nonprofit organizations and advancing their missions.
